Works on Windows, Mac, Android and Chromebook

The converter runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to install and no account to create. It works the same in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on a laptop or on a phone.

Once the page has loaded, the conversion needs no internet connection at all. That makes it fast even with large batches and on a slow connection.

Private by design

Phone photos are personal: faces, places, documents. This HEIC converter never uploads them. Each photo is decoded and saved again on your own device, and nothing is stored on a server.

Photos often carry the place where they were taken. The details are kept by default; untick “Keep photo details” before converting photos you want to share publicly.

Frequently asked questions

What is a HEIC file?

HEIC is the photo format iPhones and iPads use since iOS 11. It stores a photo in about half the space of a JPG, but many Windows programs, Android apps and websites still cannot open it.

Can I convert many photos at once?

Yes. Drop up to 20 photos in one go. They are converted one after another, and you can download them separately or together as a ZIP file.

Should I choose JPG or PNG?

Choose JPG for sharing, email and uploads: the files are small and open everywhere. Choose PNG when you will edit the image further or need a transparent background.

Do I need to install anything on Windows?

No. Windows needs a paid extension to open HEIC files, but this converter works in any modern browser without installing anything.

Is the HEIC converter free?

Yes. You can convert up to 20 photos of up to 50 MB each per batch, as often as you like, without signing up.
